JUSTICE FOR ROBERT DARBY
Crime Scene
IT was on Perth Road, the street outside The Valentine pub in Gants Hill, that Robert Darby was fatally stabbed just before midday on Wednesday, August 24, 2005.
Two eye-witnesses, Abdul Ahmed and Sally Palmer, came forward and later testified on oath that they saw parts of the incident, which was all over in a matter of seconds.
CCTV footage from the pub captured the movements of Darby's friend, Paul Hunt, in the immediate aftermath.
Were you also walking or driving in Perth Road on that damp, showery summer's day? Did you see anything of what happened – possibly from a distance – or the people involved?
Did you live in one of the row of houses next to the pub at the time of the incident and see or hear what went on in the road?
One other female witness came forward to tell police she was walking along Perth Road, shortly before 12.00, when she saw a man sitting alone in the driver's seat of a small silver car parked outside The Valentine. Are you that man? And if so, did you see anything that may assist our reinvestigation?
